Do you want to help shape the future of social services together with us in First Line Social Services while also contributing to shaping the future of social services? Since the beginning of the year, our newly formed unit has been working to develop new methods, early interventions, and a more preventive approach. The operation is expanding, and we will hire four new preventive social workers in addition to the two who are already working with us. To meet this development, we are also strengthening the management and moving from one to two senior social workers.

We are looking for an outgoing, social, and self-driven social worker with broad experience from individual and family care, particularly in the area of children and youth. With us, we work early and preventively to counteract norm-breaking behaviors and future criminality. Our employees work at or in collaboration with family centers, child health clinics, schools, and leisure activities. We provide services without means testing, IUB, and work consultatively, while also including authority exercises in the role.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a preventive social worker, you will work closely with the schools in Katrineholm municipality, and a large part of your working hours will be spent out in the schools. With the expansion of the operation, you will provide support to all schools in the municipality. The assignment also includes broadening the preventive work and further strengthening collaboration with both the police and community organizations. Internal collaboration is of great importance as we represent the collective mission of social services and need to act in a coordinated manner to provide children, youth, and their families with the right support at the right time.

The work at the schools consists of authority exercises, support conversations with children and youth, and support for their parents. You will collaborate closely with the social services reception, SSPF coordinators, and field assistants, and have a close collaboration with the school principals, educators, and counselors. The role includes providing early support to children, youth, and their families so that they quickly gain access to services without means testing, IUB.

As part of the preventive assignment, you will also work as SSPF coordinators, which means you are responsible for collaboration in cases of early concerns regarding norm-breaking behavior. During school vacations, when the regular operations slow down, you will support the social services reception and participate in fieldwork together with youth field workers as needed. The work is primarily scheduled during the day, but evening shifts may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in authority exercises within individual and family care focused on children and youth. You have good knowledge of current legislation. Furthermore, the position requires that you have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish. It is an advantage if you also have experience in treatment work within individual and family care aimed at children and youth. It is desirable that you are accustomed to working according to Signs of Safety, which is an approach we have chosen to work with throughout the entire Children and Youth department. A driving license for a manual transmission is a requirement as you will be using a car in your work.

As a person, you are secure and stable and have self-awareness. You have the ability to shift focus at short notice and adjust your planning, as situations can change quickly. Since you will be a link between social services and schools in your role, it is important that you have the ability to collaborate with others and that you are outgoing and socially active in professional relationships. You are expected to work independently and flexibly based on the needs of children and youth within the framework of the Social Services Act.
